Dogs are our best friends — they make us laugh, give us unconditional love, and they are just adorable. But when the people of Earth are in desperate need of a new planet, can the dogs help?
This year Netflix has just released a new show called Dogs In Space, created by Jeremiah Cortez. It premiered its first season on November 18, telling the story of a team of genetically-enhanced dogs on a mission to find a new world for humans to live in.
This kind of show brings together two of my favorite things – dogs and space. And I am living for it! The animation is spectacular and every character is so loveable and fun to watch. Captain Garbage, the captain of the team (corgi on the right) is very confident in his leadership skills despite being too over his head, which causes chaos for the rest of the crew. Everyone has their own quirks and fun personalities that shine on screen and it’s a bundle of fun and adventure.
While there’s a lot of funny moments, there are episodes of hardship and emotions. Garbage is desperate to find a new planet to someday return to his owner – who he’s been separated from for years. And throughout the season he starts to have doubts about how good of a person his owner really was, if she’s not contacted him all this time. Struggles like these really pull at the heartstrings, making this series all the more emotional and caring.
My absolute favorite character of Dogs In Space has to be Nomi (dog on the left) who is a pilot and is always super hyper and ready for action. Her spirit is strong and she always is excited whenever a mission is going on, which makes Nomi a very bright character to watch. I love her a lot, along with the rest of the many characters of the show.
I would HIGHLY recommend seeing this show if you’re interested, the first season’s currently on Netflix and it will make you laugh and cry with dogs running around with blasters on different planets. It’s a fun adventure at every turn and you do not want to miss it!
