Into the Spiderverse in 2018 pushed the boundaries of animation and storytelling with its immersive world-building and characters – and now 4 years later a sequel has finally been announced.
A first look for Across the Spiderverse was released on December 5th, 2021 featuring what Miles and Gwen were talking about at the end of the first movie – and it further teases us with exciting animation going across the different universes of this story. This will further expand on the small glimpses we saw of the other worlds in the first movie and further build and expand upon the characters and Miles Morales’ story arc.
I’m really excited about the return of this franchise because I loved the first movie so much when it came out. Along with Marvel’s Spiderman: No Way Home, coming out on December 17th, this is BIG news for many fans of the Spiderman franchise. If you love the first Into the Spiderverse, then you won’t want to miss Across the Spiderverse when it eventually comes out next year. The release date for this upcoming movie is October 7, 2022.
