After last night’s season finale aired on both Syfy and USA networks, NBCUniversal has pulled the plug for a season 2 of Chucky. The series was made by the creator of the killer doll Chucky, Don Mancini. He stated “We’re thrilled to start pulling the strings on the second season of puppet mayhem with Chucky”, and “Many thanks to our partners at USA, Syfy, and UCP for their incredible support and guidance bringing Chucky to the small screen, bigger than ever. And to the fans, Chucky sends his still-undying thanks, and a message: ‘This isn’t over, not by a long shot. You better watch your backs in 2022!’”. In January when the show was picked up as a series in 2020 it originally was going to air just on Syfy as an effort to lean harder into fan service for the cabler. But then NBCUniversal’s restructuring last year and new NBCUniversal boss Susan Rovner has decided best to share the property with USA Network as well.
