How I Met Your Mother

After watching 9 seasons of the 2005 sitcom “How I Met Your Mother ” one would be able to call yourself a fan. 208 episodes of anything and you would say you’re invested, so when a show you’re thoroughly invested in has a bad ending that completely destroyed 8 seasons of character growth you would not be happy. The show follows Ted Mosby as he tells his children the story before he met their mother and the wacky antics he and his gang of friends in New York got up to that eventually lead to their conception. In the first episode, we are introduced to Robin Scherbatsky who Ted immediately falls in love with before revealing at the end of the episode where present Ted reveals that she is the kid’s “aunt” Robin. As the show continues on Robin and Ted date many times and has many passionate scenes that are all seen as Ted’s path to growth before he is ready to meet his wife, but in the end, after 9 seasons of setting up Ted’s wife, it is revealed in the show finale that she had died and Ted was trying to convince his kids that he should once more go out with Robin. This one last episode seemingly ended every single episode and lesson that Ted had learned up to this point. It felt like a cop-out to appease fans who had been shipping Ted and Robin and it completely ruined the show. In conclusion, I would watch the show but not the last episode.
