During the holidays online shopping is extremely popular. It’s easy, reliable, and people can save money with online coupons. With it being so popular people are constantly getting packages delivered during the holidays. Families tend to not be home when the packs are being delivered making it very easy for them to get stolen. In 2021, 210 million packages were stolen from Americans. During the holidays, porch thefts are going to be even more of a concern as people order their gifts online and have busier holiday schedules, according to one criminal justice and package theft expert. Some delivery carriers are understanding of what’s been happening and will hide packages or wait for someone to open the door so the packages can go to the correct carriers. With that, people should make sure to be home or not leave their packages on their porches so we can help prevent thieves from stealing them.
