  1. Die Hard 

New York City policeman John McClane is visiting his estranged wife and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there’s no one to save the hostages — but him.

  1. The Grinch  

The Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpit. His main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his neighbors in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realizes there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all.

Based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd, this beloved holiday movie follows the wintry exploits of youngster Ralphie Parker who spends most of his time dodging a bully and dreaming of his ideal Christmas gift, a “Red Ryder air rifle.” Frequently at odds with his cranky dad but comforted by his doting mother, Ralphie struggles to make it to Christmas Day with his glasses and his hopes intact.

While bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister acts out the night before a circle of relatives travel to Paris, his mother makes him sleep inside the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly depart for the airport forgetting Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to not have any family has come true. However, his exhilaration sours when he realizes that two con men plan to rob the McCallister residence and that he alone has to defend the family house.
