Scicon. It’s an experience that most 6th graders will go through. Leaving your parents for a week can be difficult at that age, but you’ll be plenty distracted with all the beautiful trails that fill up your time.

#3 Tree Nursery

The tree nursery trail focuses on the natural cycle of producers, consumers, and decomposers. On the trail, you explore the tree nursery, a small corner in which they grow plants varying from flowers to trees. You spend about 30 minutes tending to the plants before you take a scenic hike through the beautiful green forest along the river bed. It’s definitely a must-see.

#2 Astronomy

The astronomy trail is one of many night hikes, however, it is definitely the best one. You walk along an amazing nature trail in the dead of night while listening to the crickets and frogs which really sets the mood. From there you learn about the stars and constellations in the night sky. In the end, you look through a large telescope where you watch the moon. The trail really makes your night. It’s beautiful and truly makes learning fun.

#1 Geology

Who knew geology could be this fun!? The geology trail focuses on that of the Earth, its crust, and the rocks that cover its surface. You walk along a river in a beautiful plant-covered field. From there you walk along a surface of eroding rocks that you are able to slide on at the very end. You learn how rocks erode in one of the most scenic places in Scicon. If you ever have the chance you have to do this one. It’s the best trial for good reason. It’s beautiful and truly shows what Scicon is all about.
