As of March 1st, 2021, Risk of Rain 2 will finally be getting its long-awaited first DLC expansion known as “Survivors Of The Void”. This expansion will feature brand new enemies, stages, bosses, items, and even a new survivor known as the “Railgunner”. Throughout this article, we will be unpacking all the things players can come to expect in this revolutionary new update and showcasing all that it has to offer. With the unifying theme of the new update being “the void” many of the new enemies and items being added have new special properties that coincide with the theme. For example, there will be new types of items from the void that turn the properties of old items and corrupt them, giving them new stat boosts and uses for the player. But although many of the new aspects of the update are still unclear and have yet to be fully released, the one thing that has been extensively covered is the new railgunner character. The railgunner functions as a high damage output sniper character that focuses on hitting weak spots on enemies in order to deal an insane amount of damage to enemies, but it also has another main attack function that shoots seeking bullets which allow for enemy crowd control when they get too close. The railgunner is also equipped with a concussive device that can be used to knock back enemies but also if used correctly can be used to propel the player in different directions. The most powerful tool in the railgunner’s arsenal however is its overcharge ability, which allows the player to overcharge their sniper to deal even more damage with the drawback of all railgun functions being completely disabled for the next five seconds after use. So although there is a limited amount of information available for players regarding the new DLC, the things that have been shown have been leaving fans fiending for more information and incredibly excited for the DLC’s launch on March 1st.
