Recycling and reusing are extremely important to contain pollution and reduce the need to harvest new material. There are a lot of ways to reuse and repurpose household items. By reusing, not only are you saving money but giving the environment a little bit of love. Below are a few tips to help you begin your recycling and reusing journey!

Buy cleaning supplies in bulk! Buy soap (hand or dish) in bulk and refill reusable soap dispensers. This helps minimize plastic and waste (less packaging).

Repurpose bottles and jars To houseplants or use them to store dry foods like rice or beans.

Reuse plastic containers to store other food. Save takeout containers to store your lunch! Store leftovers in old plastic containers.

Switch to rags instead of paper towels or wipes for cleaning. You can DIY rags by cutting up old clothes! Rags are reusable as opposed to paper towels or wipes.

Save your dryer sheets and use them as dusters.

Save single-use plastic bags and use them as trash bags This way you don’t have to buy as many trash bags.

Reduce food waste by saving food scraps. Save garlic and onion skins for broths. Add eggshells and coffee grounds to house plant pots to add nutrients.
