E ALBUM REVIEW

On November 27th, 2019, rapper and popular group “Drain Gang” member, Ecco2k dropped his debut album titled “E”. Now I know what you might be thinking, Is this review a joke? Or a prank? No. The album is literally titled E, but it is better than you think it is. Ecco2k is a popular rapper that associates with the rap group Drain Gang which also consists of members Bladee, Thaiboy Digital, and Yung Sherman who also associates with Yung Lean’s group. E is the debut album by Ecco2k and the reason why it is probably called E is obviously associated with his rapper name.

Ever since Ecco2k dropped this debut album, he has been popular on social media including Instagram and TikTok. This album is very weird but also slightly good in a way, it follows weird production and definitely is highly experimental and hard to get into at first. This project really showed how diverse Ecco2k can be but also how weird he is as an artist following songs like AAA powerline, Peroxide, and Cc which follow that weird production vibe to this project.

Some of the standouts from this project are that it gives me a really weird vibe but also an amazing vibe listening to this album. This album is very well produced lyrically and beat wise and the way Ecco delivers on some of the songs is absolutely outstanding knowing he has just come into the rap game since like 2017. This album gives you a very weird vibe and it’s very different from anything else released in 2019 and 2019 was not that bad of a year for music. This project is very strange and abstract because it uses the same vocals and same production but also switches it to where the uniqueness sounds very raw but also highly experimental.

The Flaws I have with this album are that this is a very weird album and I have stated that many times I know. This album is very different from anything I have listened to, even Death Grips and that’s surprising. From what Ecco2k has made I can see that this album had very good production and I like how different this album is. It creates a sense of diversity in the rap game. Some of the songs I enjoyed from this project are AAA Powerline, Peroxide, Cc, Fragile, Security!, Blue Eyes.

Overall I would give this album an 8/10, This album is very experimental but also a super fun and interesting listening experience. My main recommendation for people who decide to listen to this is to try to keep an open mind while listening to it, you will not like it at first but I do suggest you listen to this album multiple times because it will grow on you. Overall I liked this album and I am very excited to see what Ecco2k has to offer in the future of his career.
