On Wednesday, El Diamante faced off against the Tulare Union Track Team. This was the first meet of the season for both teams. Each team had been practicing and putting in the hardest work since the month of December. These two vicious track squads were more than prepared to face head to head and had been looking forward to it for quite some time. In the past, the dual meets that El Diamante and Tulare Union have faced off in had often resulted in a Union victory. Although previous statistics and odds were in favor of a Tulare Union win, this would not be the case Wednesday evening. Men’s Varsity won with points tallied 86 (El Diamante) to 36 (Tulare Union). Women’s Varsity also won with points tallied 69 (El Diamante) to 30 (Tulare Union). Throughout all of the events between both Men and Women, El Diamante took 1st in 24 out of 30 of all the possible events to place in. With this being said, it’s 120% clear that El Diamante walked away with their first victory of the season Wednesday night.
