After years of the famous Victoria’s Secret’s anti-inclusivity complaints along with their transphobia and fatphobia past, the company has finally decided to rebrand itself. Their new, “Love Cloud” collection campaign has an “incredible cast of inspiring women with unique backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and stories,” according to a statement by the official company. The new “Love Cloud” collection has been a major moment in the brand’s evolution. Emira D’Spain made history by becoming the first Black trans model to work with Victoria’s Secret. The company has come to terms with its past and wanted to create a new Victoria’s Secret standard. Walking into Victoria’s Secret where they used to be only advertised with thin women and mannequins all over, there are now different sized women and mannequins. They have claimed that no one should be judged and have created a plus-size section. For a month straight stores from all over advertised plus-size clothing, which drew customers insane. This movement allowed anyone to feel comfortable in their store and they earned a lot of new, happy customers. Although the company has finally decided to step up, there have been many social media comments stating that their performance and change have been far too late and should have changed many years ago. Some also believed that they are only doing this because they were getting death threats and hate and it’s only for the advertisement.
