Last Wednesday, the Boys Varsity Track Team for El Diamante faced off against Tulare Western in a classic 6 point placement style dual meet. These two teams have been working their very hardest this season for this very meet where the top high school track team in Visalia would face off against the top high school track team in Tulare. Last week, El Diamante Boys Varsity annihilated Tulare Union with almost two times as many points. El Diamante had secured their first victory and was more than hungry for their second. Tulare Western on the other hand has had the biggest track squad they’ve had in the last 5 years, therefore they have obtained many talented athletes this season. The stakes were high and the meet was anyone’s game. The meet started with a 4x100m race that resulted in a victory for El Diamante by a landslide. The meet ended with Pole Vault that also resulted in an El Diamante victory topping off with an 11’0 ft clear. Overall the meet was extremely close in points but the Men’s Varsity Track Squad ended up topping Tulare Western by 4 points. The score was 48 (Western) to 52 (El Diamante). With these facts being stated, El Diamante on Wednesday walked away with their second victory of the season.
