Friday, March 18, marked the final day of El Diamante’s 2022 Co-Ed volleyball tournament. Eight teams competed against each other at lunch throughout the week in attempts at making it to the end in order to play against some of El D’s most beloved teachers. Undefeated, the Dirty J’s made it to the championship. They were met with the challenge of facing off against the teachers, but eventually won 21-16. Without the support of their diehard fans (sudden social media fame and their crowded meet and greets), it’s almost obvious this wouldn’t be possible. In all seriousness, however, the tournament was a lot of fun to watch and I think this was a very underrated activity at El Diamante. It would be awesome for more students to get involved in the future, and to come out and show their school spirit as well as their skills on the court!
