I turned 18 on Wednesday and I wasn’t very happy. On Monday I missed school because I had a stye on my eye and I had a sore throat. When I felt my throat hurt I thought maybe it’ll go away in a day or two but then the next day it hurt a lot to the point where I couldn’t swallow my own saliva. I missed school Tuesday and went to the doctor that evening and I tested positive for strep throat but negative for covid which made me feel relieved. I was a little upset because I thought I wouldn’t have enjoyed my 18th birthday but the next day I had a really good birthday thanks to my friends and family. Although I couldn’t enjoy my dinner without my throat hurting, I had a good time with my family. My twin brother could tell that on the morning of our birthday I was upset but he reassured me that I’ll get better and I just needed to think positive about the situation. I tried my best to put a smile on my face and push through it on our birthday because I didn’t want to ruin it for him either. Now I am a lot better and happy that I pushed through the day when my throat hurt. Now it’s time to go to Disneyland this weekend to celebrate my brother and my 18 years of life.
