“Many dreams have come true for me this year, but this one is probably the most meaningful.”
– Olivia Rodrigo
After being nominated for seven Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, the American singer-songwriter attended her first Grammy Awards this year. Olivia writes, “When I was younger, my family lived a few blocks from the Staples Center, where the Grammys took place every year.” “I would always walk outside the arena and look at the plaques on the ground with all the winner’s names in wide-eyed wonder.” Rodrigo’s year has been nothing short of a frenzy. The teenage artist became a worldwide star in a matter of hours. Olivia’s debut album Sour, which she released at the age of 18, smashed streaming records after streaming records. Rodrigo took home awards for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance. Many people are interested to see what the young musician has in store for her second album, which she said is now in the works, but for the time being, she has spoken out about her awards and said, “Thank you to everyone who has believed in me and supported the songs I write…. I’m beyond humbled. Truly a day I will never forget.”
