Jacob Fagundes, younger brother of El Diamante varsity baseball player Joey Fagundes, has a very rare form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma called Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, which he beat twice. On Tuesday, April 26th, the Varsity El Diamante and Mt. Whitney baseball teams worked together with the Go4theGoal Foundation to raise money for families affected by pediatric cancer. El Diamante’s baseball field was decorated with yellow in support of childhood cancer awareness.

Jacob, a big baseball fan, got to throw the first pitch of the game to his brother, Joey. Many people came to the game to support, and the fundraising goal of $2,000 was exceeded by the end of the game, thanks to online and fan donations from the game. El Diamante won 3-2, as junior, Daniel Coronado, had a game-winning hit.
