Mother’s day is coming up this Sunday. A short history lesson about this holiday came from Anna Jarvis’ mother on May 12th, 1907. The mother created an organization of a women’s group to promote friendship and health. In honor of her mother, she created this holiday in order to honor all mothers for their efforts and sacrifices they made for their children.
There are many ways to show your mom your appreciation. There will be many activities within Visalia to bring your mother to.
If you’re interested in supporting your local churches, they will be holding brunch events on the day of Mothers Day. There is one being held at Calvary Visalia. The Gateway of Church of Visalia is doing Moms & Muffins for Mother’s Day.
If you’re wanting to do more for your mom besides getting a card, T.O.B Visalia has sessions to help you create a DIY Mother’s Day gift. They’re doing these sessions till the 6th of May and all sessions start at 6pm.
If you’re interested in doing a cake decorating session with your mom, BC Cakes are doing exactly that. All the materials and cake are included in this process. You will be able to take your cake home. They are holding it on May 9th and May 11th. The time starts from 6pm to 7:30pm. The class fee cost 75 dollars for a pair of cakes and 50 dollars for the individual cake. To book the session you can message her on Facebook or Instagram. Her account name is Bccakesvisalia.
