Joe Biden’s Gun Control Won’t Stop Gun Violence

After the mass shooting in Sacramento, California. Biden signed executive orders to go after “ghost guns”, along with announcing plans to stop gun violence, trying to push background checks for all guns, ban the sale, possession of non-serialized guns (ghost guns), banning assault weapons, high capacity magazines, along with repealing gun manufacturer protection from liability.

But the thing was that the mass shooting was actually a brawl outside of a nightclub. There was a dispute outside of the nightclub at 2 am, then tensions got heated with people punching each other. Then multiple shooters pulled out their guns, multiple shots were fired with 6 people dead, 12 injured. The guns used were either stolen or modified as one handgun was stolen, another illegally modified into a fully automatic pistol.  Not ghost guns. The shooters were thugs, fools who let anger get the best of them. What was interesting some of these shooters would have been in prison if it wasn’t for the new law that was passed, Prop 57, which allowed prisoners an early release in order to crack down on the prison population. One of the shooters, Simley Martin would have been behind bars until this May if the law was never passed, it also doesn’t make sense as California law says that his domestic battery case was considered a “nonviolent” case, he was not charged with a felony despite multiple arrests, for assault, robbery, having an illegal rifle, violently beating his ex-girlfriend, attempting to kidnap her.

There is also this “ghost gun” scare. Biden says the restriction on unregistered gun kits where you can buy gun kits off the web, where you can build your own gun unregistered. Biden says it will keep it out of the hands of terrorists and criminals. The problem is that in order to buy a “buy, build, shoot” kit you have to go through a background check to not have a felony. So the ban on unregistered gun kits won’t change anything, people would still buy a gun kit, have to go through the annoying bureautic process of putting on a serial number, registering to the federal government, and having a federal license, also signing a form for a background check. So it just made it harder for regular citizens to build a gun at home. Another interesting thing is that the White House expanded the definition of “ghost guns”, so if a serial number is scratched off of a firearm it’s considered a “ghost gun”. This is strange since if you scratch off a serial number on a firearm, it’s a first-degree misdemeanor with a $100,00 fine and up to a 5-year sentence. This was made illegal under the 1968 gun control act. So “ghost guns” aren’t on the rise, the category just got expanded.

Biden vowed to repeal gun manufacturer protection from liability or suing. This is false because you can sue gun companies like any other company, they get sued often just like any company out there.

The banning of assault weapons, along with high-capacity magazines won’t work. California has banned assault weapons, while Smiley Martin was found with what will be considered under California law “assault weapon, the high capacity magazine”. If a common street hug could get a fully automatic AR-15 with high-capacity magazines? What’s the point, law-abiding citizens will obey the laws but a criminal won’t. In fact, what’s an assault weapon? According to Webster “…any of various automatic or semiautomatic firearms especially: assault rifle .” If it’s automatic then that’s an assault rifle or a battle rifle. Not an assault weapon. Battle rifles, assault rifles, are automatic or have selective firing modes. Why regulate semi-automatic firearms, you can fire only one bullet per trigger, that depends on the shooter. Lawmakers say the regulation of these guns will stop mass shooters. How? The recent one was done with handguns, most gun deaths are done by handguns, and most of them are self-harm.

(The illegal rifle is semi-automatic. Below it is semi-automatic but it has a really terrible buttstock to make the shooter difficult to aim and fire upon the crowd. The pistol grip is also awful and hollow to make it unstable when shooting with the barrel having no flash hider. In order to reload the bottom rifle, you have to remove the top cover of the rifle, use a tool to remove the 10-round magazine, put the magazine in, and close the top part of the gun on the rifle. The law didn’t make a safer gun, it just made a terrible gun? How does this solve violence? (Look up AR-15 California reload, it’s stupid).
