I Ranked all of Taylor Swift’s Albums!

In my last article, I ranked my top 13 Taylor Swift songs; this week, I decided to rank all the TS albums! If you couldn’t tell already, I’m a die-hard swiftie, so this was a difficult undertaking. I’m not including singles and old albums that have Taylor’s version available. If you don’t really listen to TS or just listen to her radio songs, I 100% suggest that you listen to all of these albums!

9. Taylor Swift (TS1) – The album that started it all; I love the debut album, but it’s just not my favorite lyrically out of all of the albums. My favorite songs off of TS1 are “Picture to Burn” and “Should’ve Said No”.

8. Red (Taylor’s Version) (TS11) – I think this is one of the most emotionally raw albums that Taylor has put out. I definitely have this album on repeat, especially during fall and winter. My favorites off Red (TV) include “All Too Well (TV) (10 Minute Version)”, “22 (TV)”, and “The Lucky One (TV)”.

7. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (TS10) – Fearless was my original introduction to Taylor Swift! A lot of TS classics are on this album; when the re-record dropped, we were introduced to some amazing new songs that Taylor kept in the vault for over a decade. My favorites are “You Belong With Me”, “Mr. Perfectly Fine”, and “Untouchable”.

6. Lover (TS 7) – TS7 gave us so many catchy masterpieces! The “Lover era” was such an incredible era, complete with glitter, pastels, and pink hair. It’s hard to pick my favorites, but here they are, “Lover”, “Daylight”, and “It’s Nice To Have a Friend”.

5. Speak Now (TS3) – This. Album. Popped. Off. From breakup songs to enchanting (pun intended) love songs, Speak Now encapsulates Taylor’s writing ranges perfectly. My favorites include “Enchanted”, “Better Than Revenge”, “Haunted”, and “Innocent”.

4. evermore (TS9) – One of two quarantine masterpieces, evermore rocked the world of swifties. I love how Taylor tells stories in her songs (and sometimes intertwines the stories) and expresses feelings that are felt as you age and mature. I recommend listening to “willow”, “champagne problems”, “happiness”, and well, the whole album!

3. 1989 (TS5) – Taylor had a genre switch, and dazzled the world with it. I recently rediscovered 1989 and it’s been on repeat every day since! I feel like the album covers some of the stages of grief and many different stages of falling in love. I’ve been loving “Clean”, “Wonderland”, and “New Romantics”.

2. reputation (TS6) – Taylor’s comeback album is a work of art; this is by far one of her most expressive albums. I’ve discovered some of the stories behind the songs, and I never cease to be amazed about how Taylor put such complex emotions into words, let alone songs. The stadium tour was absolutely jaw-dropping and a manifestation of the album! “Dancing With Our Hands Tied”, “Delicate”, “King of My Heart”, “Call It What You Want”, and “Gorgeous” are my top tracks from reputation.

1. folklore (TS8) – My number one album!! I will admit that folklore is not my most-streamed album, but it’s my favorite one for now! This was a genre shift from Lover, but I’m here for it. I think that this album represents how Taylor’s music has grown up with her. This album gave us swifties an amazing music video, enchanting merch (love my cardigan), and overall such a remarkable era. It’s borderline impossible to pick favorites, but here’s what I scrounge together: “cardigan”, “the last great American dynasty”, “mirrorball”, and “this is me trying”.
