People in ‘Wall-E’

This week I watched a movie called ‘Wall-E’. The people in ‘WALL-E’ abandon the polluted Earth, leave robots called Wall-E(Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class), and leave for space thinking that the Earth will return. When Wall-E followed Eve, who was a robot that was trying to find plants, to the spaceship, the human appearance was shocking. Everything is automated; robots help everything for people, and humans just sit on chairs without doing anything.

The people on the spaceship don’t even walk. Hands are less necessary, as the chairs are moveable and if people order, the robot brings anything to people. The color of clothes changes with the push of a button, and there is even a robot that takes care of children. They spend their time in chairs and video chatting with their friends. It looks like a utopia, but it is not.

If they fall from the chair, they can’t get up until the robot comes, and other people just pass by looking at the screens, regardless of who falls. One may think this movie is exaggerated, but I think it is a good example of how a life that pursues only convenience makes a human being.
