In 2022, Netflix has over 17,000 titles globally across all its international libraries. That’s double the number of movies and shows in 2018. And buried in all of these titles, there are many outstanding shows and movies to watch. Popular genres like Action, Thriller, comedy, and crime. It might be overwhelming for average new viewers to consume this amount of content. To make it easier, I listed ten Netflix titles that you should watch in 2022.
10: Stranger things
Stranger things is an American science fiction horror drama television series created by the Duffer Brothers. It is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, The series centers around several mysteries and supernatural events occurring in Hawkins. The first season begins in the date November 1983. Will Byers goes missing under unnatural circumstances. A young psychokinetic girl named Eleven escapes from the Hawkins Lab and is found by friends of Will.

Black Mirror is a British anthology television series created by Charlie Brooker. Individual episodes explore a diversity of genres that are mostly set in the future with science fiction technology. It is famous for dark and disturbing topics with a twist. One of the episodes is about a woman, Victoria wakes up and cannot remember anything about her life. Everyone around her refuses to communicate with her and enjoys filming her discomfort on their phones. If you’re into shows with mind-blowing plot twists, Black Mirror is the show for you.

8: The Platform
The Platform is a 2019 Spanish social science fiction horror film directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia. The setting takes place in a large, tower-style vertical self-management center. The central idea of the film is class warfare and the increasing fragility of our social pyramid. Prisoners housed in vertical cells watch as inmates in the upper level are fed while those below starve.

Money Heist is a Spanish heist crime drama television series created by Alex Pina. he famous for his work in Vis a vis, El Embarcadero, Los hombre. The Money Heist series traces two long-prepared heists led by The Professor aka Sergio Marquina. The story is narrated from the perspective of one of the robbers, Tokyo.

6: Erased
Erased, known in Japan as Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi is a 2016 Japanese thriller fantasy mystery Netflix series adaptation of the manga series of the same name. The anime is about a twenty-nine old man, Satoru Fujinuma experiencing a strange phenomenon he calls “Revival”. When ‘Revival’ happens, Fujinuma is brought back into the past where he must prevent a tragedy from happening. In the show, he uses it to solve a spine-chilling murder case of a girl named Kayo that Satoru used to know.
Boku Daku Ga Inai Maci tells a unique great mystery with twists and turns. The series is phenomenal at keeping you hooked and on the edge of your seat with every episode ending with a cliffhanger; you’re easily in love with all of the characters. It’s underrated by how many people see it as only a Netflix adaptation; it’s worth your time.

5: Heartstopper
Heartstopper is a British coming-of-age LBGTQ+ romantic comedy television series on Netflix, adapted from the famous webcomic and graphic novels of the same name created by Alice Oseman. It follows the story of high school sweetheart Charlie and rugby player Nick. The series also features other relationships like a lesbian couple, Tara and Darcy.
The series differentiates itself from other high-school teen romances, choosing romance over trauma. It has perfect and diversely cast with LGBTQ representation. In the show, even more, special was the realistic concept of one person trying to identify who they are and the struggle it could be for people in today’s society of coming out.

4: A Silent Voice
A silent voice(Koe no Katachi) is a 2016 Japanese animated drama film produced by Kyoto Animation and directed by Naoko Yamada. It takes place in the relatively small city of Ogaki, in Gifu Prefecture, in the center of the Japanese archipelago. Where a young man named Shoya Ishida set off on a path for redemption after years later bullying a deaf girl to the point where she had no choice but to move away.
It’s an outstanding and beautiful movie filled with emotions. There ain’t a single moment or scene which makes you lose interest. It keeps you hooked and the storyline is something so timeless and unique. A silent voice is a film that will put you into tears.

3: Squid Game
Squid Game is a South Korean survival drama television series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix. The show revolves around a contest where 456 players, all of whom are in deep financial hardship, risk their lives to play a series of deadly children’s games for the chance to win 45.6 billion in prize money.
When Gi-Hun first wakes up in the lobby filled with contestants and you hear the classical music, you’re immediately glued to your seat. The Squid Game is well crafted suspenseful show and has a cruel view of humanity and society. It’s the reason why it is the second most viewed show on Netflix.

2: Alice In Borderland
Alice in Borderland is a 2020 Japanese science fiction thriller drama Netflix series based on the manga. After a mysterious power outage, Arisu and his friends are transported to a parallel dimension and forced to take part in deadly games to survive, and escape is by means guaranteed.
Alice in Borderland’s story is well written and all the different levels of emotions from each of the actors were very comforting and enjoyable to watch. In the show, things are very straightforward and predictable for newer viewers. Alice In Borderland is similar to the Squid game with its concept of people trying to survive in deadly games.

All of Us Are Dead is a South Korean modern zombie apocalypse horror Netflix series. In the show, the setting is mostly taken place in Hyosan High School where fellow students must fight their way out to survive or turn into one of the rabid infested.
All of Us Are Dead has unique ways of differentiating itself from other zombie apocalypse shows and movies. The show has interesting characters and unpredictable and tear-jerking moments. It spotlights many problems that plague Korean society and the world today.
