The more I look around, looking around the school, at our peers, there’s been a shift. A change. Western culture is making a comeback. I can see it as clear as day. Since we are in California, in the Central Valley, farmers are our main job sources. As well as the western culture making a comeback, the 80s/90s style is coming back as well. It’s interesting to see how as we are progressing in the world, our fashion, trends, and mannerisms are changing and going backward. Western style and hippie style seems to be very prominent in this day and age. Everywhere you look, you see some cowboy boots, or flared clothes.
Western culture generally revolves around the idea of family and traditional values. Take the 2018 drama, Yellowstone as an example. It’s centered around family, love, being a cowboy builds character and many more ideals. In the 20th century, everyone is more comfortable being themselves and showing you who they really are. Hence why I think I’ve noticed more and more people wearing cowboy attire and acting the way they please. The same with the 80s/90s style, many of us today don’t like the new styles. Crop tops and small little shirts aren’t for everyone. Not everyone feels comfortable with it. More and more old ideals are making a comeback and I think it’s for the better. There are some things we need to change in our world, and having good respectful ideals (western culture) is a small solution to many problems.
