Around two weeks after the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert was held, two classic Foo Fighters songs — ‘Everlong’ and “My Hero have climbed up into a total of four different Billboard Charts, with “Everlong” climbing up to the #1 spot on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
Even for the ever-so-popular Foo Fighters, who are no strangers to overwhelming and large chart success as one of the best rock bands of all time, this has a little bit more feel to it, as those songs were the last two songs played at the 1st tribute concert, at Wembley Stadium.
On March 25, prior to taking the stage with Foo Fighters in Columbia, Hawkins unexpectedly passed away at 50 years old. In the coming months, the remaining members of the band would organize two tribute concerts, one already being performed at the time of writing this article, to honor the life and legacy of Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins.
The concert would consist of multiple guest appearances, including ‘The Beatles’ Paul McCartney, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Wolfgang Van Halen, Queen’s Brian May, and Roger Taylor, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, and several more. Another guest appearance would be Shane Hawkins, Taylor’s 16-year-old son. Shane played Foo Fighters’ song, ‘My Hero’ on the drums, in remembrance of his father. The concert consisted of 50 songs by several artists, and concluded with an 11-song Foo Fighters set, with many guest appearances.
