Cinder By Marissa Meyers is the first book in the Lunar Chronicles series. This Dystopian Fantasy Novel follows a cyborg girl named Cinder, she’s the best mechanic in New Beijing. When Cinders Stepsister falls ill with a deadly illness, her stepmother puts the blame on her. Cinder’s life quickly becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai. Soon enough Cinder finds herself in the center of an intergalactic struggle and a forbidden romance. Caught between duty and her freedom, Cinder is forced to dig deep into her past in order to save her stepsister and the future of her world.

I loved this book, I received this book as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago but didn’t start reading it till about two years ago. I both Read and listened to the book on a trip to San Diego, and I couldn’t put it down. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of dystopian books let alone one about a version of a futuristic cinderella. But OH MAN, this book constantly had me on the edge of my seat. I sympathized with some characters and some made my blood boil. Meyers does a fantastic job of staying true to the original tale of cinderella, with the added drama and sci-fi element it really surprised me. This book was so good that I turned around and bought the whole series.

So to those who enjoy classic fantasy stories with a twist, I would highly recommend Cinder to you. Five out of five stars for sure!
