Hispanic Heritage Month

It is currently Hispanic Heritage Month, and it is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th. It is a time to appreciate the accomplishments, successes, and contributions of people with Hispanic origins. We celebrate this month by taking time to learn about Hispanic culture and history. This event originated in 1968 when President Lyndon Johnson started a Hispanic Heritage Week, but it was then expanded to a month-long celebration by Ronald Reagan in 1988.  Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 15th because this date is the anniversary of the independence of many Latin American countries. So try to take some time this month to learn more about Hispanic culture and the important history behind this month. 🙂
