Rita Isbell, her brother was murdered at age 19, by Jeffery Dahmer, who came out and made a statement of disappointment and grief in the making of Dahmer. Isbell states how she wasn’t contacted by Netflix in the making of this show and feels “Netflix should’ve asked if we mind ” about the making of Dahmer. Isbell also states how disturbingly similar the show is. She makes a remark; “If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought it was me.” She goes on to say her hair, clothes, and the statement itself were all how she looked on that day she gave a victim impact statement during the Dahmer 1992 sentence. Isbell closes with “The episode with me was the only part I saw. I didn’t watch the whole show. I don’t need to watch it. I lived it. I know exactly what happened.” Personally, I think Netflix should’ve at least informed the families about the making of this show out of respect for this horrifying event taking place. Although Netflix technically doesn’t have to notify anyone, they still should’ve said something out of respect.
