Taking a break from book reviews, this week I’ll be focusing on a popular topic that is a popular debate among book lovers. Are the books better than the movies? Now this question can be asked about a variety of movies expanding many different genres. One of my favorite examples of this is when looking at the Percy Jackson series. This series of books follows a young half-blood boy named Percy Jackson as he sets on an adventure to settle an ongoing war between the gods. These books are amazing they are filled with lots of adventure, interesting characters, and a well-thought-out plot. But when it comes to the movies that’s a different story. Only two movies were made and in my opinion terrible. The story didn’t match up to the books the acting was bad, the writing was bad, and overall they were just terrible movies.
However, a good example of an equal balance between a good book series and a good movie franchise is Harry Potter. The global sensation of the wizarding world of Harry Potter not only was a huge success from its books but each release of the movies bigger than the last. The now iconic franchise has grown past movies to theme parks and other sub-categories of the franchise.
So are books always better than movies?
