A San Diego doctor is charged with killing an inmate. She was charged Wednesday with involuntary manslaughter, killing a 24-year-old woman who collapsed in front of a nurse on the cell floor, who was also charged in the case. The woman Elisa Serna was feeling dizzy and nauseous but the medical observation ignored her. The nurse ignored checking her vital signals and left the poor woman on the floor for an hour before going back to the woman. Dr. Friederike Von Lintig who is the one being charged went to the superior court in San Diego where it occurred in November 2019. The woman Dr. Friederike killed, Elisa Serna, was at the Las Colinas Detention Facility in San Diego. Dr. Friederike was going to be accused of 4 years in prison if she was convicted. They have received experts and more information on the charge. The information they got from the Medical Board of California, showed the physician contributing to the inmate’s death. Also, the court might have Danalee Pascua face four years in prison as well with the nurse since she was another woman apart from the situation of leaving Serna on the floor. People in San Diego have reported to the San Diego County Sheriffs for failing to assess inmates’ mental and physical health. Last week the lawyer for a woman who blinded herself under the influence of drugs will receive 4.35 million in a settlement as Tayna Suarez sued the County in 2019.
