Yesterday, a commercial big rig driving down the 5 freeway caught authorities in a low-speed pursuit.
Police attempted to stop the stolen 6-wheeler by laying out spike strips, to no avail. Eventually, the vehicle hit a set of strips laid out on the freeway, puncturing the front passenger tire.
At one point during the chase, the driver was seen writing on a piece of paper and holding it up to the windshield. It is unclear what was written.
The big rig continued on the road until it was captured bursting into flames by the new helicopters.
The driver eventually pulled over, got out, and surrendered to the authorities.
