Applying to College

Dear Juniors and Seniors,

It is coming… when seniors have to finalize their applications for colleges such as universities and state schools. This process is very long and nerve-racking but it is all worth it in the end when you finally figure out which college you are going to go to. The college process is long. Here are some steps and tools to use before the due date of November 30th comes close. I would recommend having to apply to scholarships at least 20 or 30 of them just to see if any accept so you don’t have to pay as much for college. Also, complete your FASFA as soon as possible to help with financial aid for college to see how much you are able to have. Even, visiting the campuses if you are unable to actually physically view the campus take virtual tours just to see if you may fit in that campus. For universities and privates specifically, you will need some letters of recommendation from teachers and counselors. Ask them at the beginning of your senior year such as in August. Then at the beginning of October when the application opens for all colleges I would begin the process by getting your parent’s information and your academic history. I would also have a personal statement and some essays are already written out to input in your applications. Make sure to have the essays relate and truly define who you are. In the end, you will feel relieved and so happy for yourself since you were able to complete such a big thing that will determine your future. Just have fun and be smart about your decisions.
