In March 2020, Trey Mancini was diagnosed with colon cancer and he missed the entirety of the 2020 season. He underwent 6 months of chemotherapy and was finally declared cancer free in November 2020. In 2021, he returned to baseball and received the Comeback Player of the Year honor for his perseverance. On August 1, 2022, the Baltimore Orioles traded Mancini to the Houston Astros. This would end up working out for Trey since the Astros just became the 2022 World Series Champions. In the last 2 years, Trey has beat stage three colon cancer, received the Comeback Player of the Year honors, and is now a World Champion.
