Does Having a Lot of Money Make You Happy?

People often think that if they have a lot of money or become rich, they would be able to feel happy. However, according to research results, happiness increases as income increases, but stops or drops when it reaches a certain level. This means that the more money you earn, the happier you become, but there is a certain limit.

Then, specifically, how much income is the satisfaction point? When averaged around the world, the satisfaction level appeared when the per capita annual income was about $95,000 and between $60,000 to $75,000 was for emotional well-being. Therefore, when income is less than $95,000, that income contributes to higher life satisfaction, but when income exceeds $95,000, it no longer contributes to higher life satisfaction. In addition, when the income exceeds 95,000 dollars, a ‘turning point’ effect was found, in which the life evaluation score rather decreased.

Making a lot of money doesn’t necessarily make you happy. Therefore, people should increase their life satisfaction while doing what they love with a moderate income that can satisfy them.
