With the federal holiday Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaching soon, I’d like to inform you about its significance. This day, observed on the third Monday of every January, marks the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr, a civil rights leader known for his influence on racial equality and ending racial segregation in the United States. King stood to make a difference for every race disregarding their background in such a difficult time. He played a crucial role in the Civil Rights Movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. Since 1986, almost twenty years later, we have honored King and will keep doing so in the years to come. Of course, all while continuing to educate ourselves on the principles of the subject itself.
