Once a 19th-century orphanage in Jerusalem that took in scores of children after the Armenian genocide, has reopened as a museum. This whole museum documents the community’s rich history. The museum showcases the culture and tells of the community’s centuries-long connections to the holy city and a memorial to the 1.5 million Armenians killed by the Ottoman Turks during World War 1. Director Tzoghig Karakashian says that the museum is meant to serve as “A passport for people to know about the Armenians”.The Museum will reopen in late 2022 after a five-year-long renovation project.
