TS Album Review: Midnights

By CALLIE WATSON

In honor of the Eras Tour starting in March, I’ve decided to review and rank songs from each of her studio albums. When Midnights was released in October of 2022, it wasn’t my favorite album at first. Flash forward a few months and I’m currently playing it on repeat 24/7. I love how all the songs on this album really encompass all of Taylor’s previous eras and albums. Midnights is a true Taylor album. I will be including all bonus tracks as well and songs are ranked from least favorite to most favorite.

20. Glitch – It’s decent for Taylor.

19. High Infidelity – It gives big “illicit affairs” vibes.

18. Dear Reader – Reader approved!

17. Sweet Nothing – I’m convinced this song was meant for folklore or evermore.

16. Snow On The Beach – Where’s Lana in this song??

15. Bigger Than The Whole Sky – I will cry (sob) if I hear this live.

14. Labyrinth – It’s like an enemies-to-lovers book in a song.

13. The Great War – Listen to the whole song, not just the viral part on TikTok.

12. You’re On Your Own, Kid – This one hits close to home.

11. Mastermind – Finally Taylor admits being a mastermind.

10. Paris – Crazy they named a city in France after a TS song.

9. Vigilante Sh*t – This one’s for the reputation swifties.

8. Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve – John Mayer feels threatened because the girl in the dress wrote him another song.

7. Lavender Haze – When’s the music video coming, Taylor??

6. Maroon – “Red” grew up.

5. Anti-Hero – I am, indeed, the problem.

4. Question..? – Love. Love. Love!

3. Midnight Rain – It really brings out my inner drama queen for some reason.

2. Bejeweled – This song is infused with glitter and all things sparkly.

1. Karma – Karma’s a cat.
