On this day, February 15th, 2023 Bea Miller released another single called cynical, which also featured her previous song, Lonely B**ch. As we enter this single she begins with a pump-up rock instrumental giving this energetic energy into the music, however in the music she describes in the song how love was never for her. The more she gets into relationships that are never what she likes, she finds someone who has proven her right that relationships were never for her and she is better off alone because she is too cynical. When we look into the word Cynical the definition of it is when believing that people are motivated purely by self-interest, later on, she changes her words by saying she is not as cynical as she had believed so the way she uses this word is that she once believed she was only following relationships by on self-interest at first but then turns out it wasn’t her. The previous song however named Lonely B**ch had a different type of story going on, it had her placed in a position where she liked being with someone suddenly even when she was used to being lonely. She had gotten used to being alone for so long once the person had come into her life and made her glitch so she doesn’t know how to feel, I believe this song was released before to then transfer that love she was beginning to feel for them turned into nothing and they were never truly meant for each other. She had different intentions with him and so did he which then maybe led to her song Cynical where she realizes that the relationship between them was never meant to be and she was better off being alone than being with someone.
Overall this single with this song features had been made by 2023, Bea miller hadn’t released since her last album Elated in 2020 around 2 to 3 years ago. Her style continues to change which makes her music more outstanding as she shows her range of how she can sing with any slow and emotional song to more of an upbeat pop style. Cynical has come up as my top favorite song and it’s a highly suggested song, so stream Cynical by Bea Miller if you are not a big fan of relationships or in the in-between.
