President’s Day!

By ISABEL MENDOZA

On Monday, the 20th of next week we have a no-school day! This is due to President’s day. President’s day is always on the third Monday of February. President’s day was originally made in recognition of George Washington. It then became known as President’s day when it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for workers. Soon it became a way to recognize and celebrate all U.S. presidents. The thing I’m most excited about is having no school!
