Homemade Starbucks Birthday Cake Pops

Ingredients: 

  • Box of classic cake mix plus the ingredients called for on the box to make the cake. 
  • Vanilla Frosting. I just grabbed a tub of store-bought frosting.
  • Cake Pop Sticks. You can also use Lollipop Sticks. Either of these will work fine.
  • Pink Candy Melts. White chocolate chips can also be used and pink food coloring.
  • White Sprinkles. We used white because this is what Starbucks does but you can use anything you prefer or have in the pantry.

How to make Starbucks cake pops:

  • Make the cake.
    First, make the cake mix following the box instructions. After you bake it, let it cool until it is room temperature.  
  • Crumble the cake.
    Start by taking the cake out of the pan.  There will normally be a brown outside layer on the cake. Remove that and throw it away. Then crumble up the cake into a large bowl.
  • Add frosting.
    Go ahead and add the frosting to the crumbled cake. Stir everything together in the mixing bowl until it is combined together really well.

This is the fun part!

  • Make the cake balls.

    Take the cake mixture and shape it into cake balls. It should make about 24 to 36 cake balls depending on the size you make them. Next, place each cake ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Then dip them in the chocolate after there are cooled off 
  • Place on a styrofoam piece and poke holes in to hold the cake pops after they are done getting frosted
  • Lastly, add sprinkles of any kind you want I prefer white pearls
