My Favorite Places to Eat in Fresno

Anytime I take a short trip down to Fresno, I am always reminded of how small of a variety Visalia has for places to shop and eat. Going to Fresno always plays the illusion of getting out of small-town Visalia, while only having to drive for 45 minutes.

My favorite place to eat while in Fresno is Heirloom. It is located in the Park Crossing Shopping Center, right across from Trader Joe’s. Heirloom is a high-quality farm-to-table food that has very reasonable prices for how good their food is. My go-to dish is their herb-roasted chicken with their roasted sweet potato and green beans as my side choices. Their portions are a good size, a little on the bigger side, but I always end up licking my plate clean. They have endless amounts of healthy food options. Another one of their dishes I love is their mushroom taquitos. At first, I was a little bit doubtful about mushrooms in taquitos, but the flavors in this plate are amazing. They have seasonal menu items throughout the year, my favorite being the green chicken pozole that they had over winter break. It was literally unreal. All of their kinds of pasta are also housemade. Not only are their entrees amazing, but their desserts are as well. They have frozen Greek yogurt in a variety of flavors, and most are seasonal. Because this place is amazing, almost anytime you go, there will be a line out of the door to order, but it is definitely worth the wait as your food will come out fast once you are seated. If you have not tried this place yet, you should definitely go and try it. It is worth the 45-minute drive.
