My favorite sport is soccer. I started playing when I was 7. I started off playing rec for about 5 years and played club for a year until covid happened while playing rec as well. During my last fall season, I tore my meniscus in the playoffs. Months later I got surgery during the covid lockdown. Since then I went back to playing rec this year. I have so many memories from when me and my brothers would play. We’d spend every weekend at the sports park. My mom’s hairstyles for my games were either high buns, high ponies, or braid crowns. Another thing I remember from those years was my dad either asking for the day off or going late just so he could get to see me and my brothers play. I’d give anything to relive those years with my brothers. One of my favorite things about playing rec was getting to play against my friends, the friendly rivalry was so fun. Another one was getting placed on the same team as those friends, soccer is responsible for many friendships I have today. I have so much to thank soccer for.
