This painting is called the Portrait of Madame de Pompadour and the woman in this gorgeous painting is known as a trendsetter of the century. In France, 300 years ago, everything she wore, used, and bought, like the current influencer, changed the trend at the time.

Pompadour is the first person to use pink in fashion. People didn’t use pink because it was dull and didn’t come out well in fabric. However, Pompadour loved pink and developed a color pigment, pompadour pink, named after her name. The pompadour pink was a stylish color. She used these dyes to create a trend with sensational pastel fashion styles.

17th century (Baroque)       18th century (Rococo)

In addition, her pastel fashion inspired various artists in the 18th century. In the 18th century, artworks had more pastel tones than the 17th-century artworks. Her fashion with the new pink influenced the art world.
