TS Album Review: evermore

By CALLIE WATSON

Hot take: evermore is better than folklore. A product of quarantine, Taylor Swift’s evermore album is truly a work of art. The 2021 release only furthered the fact that Taylor is one of the most versatile songwriters and singers of our time. I can’t wait to see what she does with evermore on tour; 10 more days till the first show as I’m writing this! Songs (bonus tracks included) will be listed from my least to most favorite.

17. it’s time to go

16. closure – I’m not sure how to feel about the drums.

15. happiness – Spoiler alert: it’s not a happy song.

14. tolerate it

13. cowboy like me – Yeehaw era!

12. ivy – The lyrics, and I cannot stress this enough, the lyrics.

11. long story short – It’s giving “Wonderland” vibes.

10. right where you left me – For the girls that are stuck in the past.

9. Dorothea – I love the friendship between Tay and Selena Gomez.

8. Majorie – Written for Taylor’s late grandmother and possibly the sweetest song ever.

7. no body, no crime – Only Taylor Swift could glamourize this.

6. willow – I died dead hearing this performed live at the 2021 Grammys.

5. coney island – The ultimate mashup of all the exes.

4. champagne problems – No champagne, but plenty of problems.

3. evermore – Hits a little close to home for no particular reason.

2. ‘tis the damn season – It’s not a Christmas song babe.

1. gold rush – Taylor Swift, you are a girl’s girl.
