Yesterday afternoon we played two games against Monache and we were victorious in both. We ended the first game with a final score of 11-0 and a Miner victory. Brandon Petty pitched a complete game with 16 strikeouts without allowing any runs. He also went 2-4 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. The second game was a little more of a battle after being a little exhausted from the first one. Matthew Bettencourt started on the mound and he threw five scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts and only 4 hits. It was a close 2-0 game up until the 5th inning when Daniel Coronado hit a bases-clearing triple to really put the game out of reach for the Marauders. The final score of the second game was 8-0 which makes this the third time that we have shut out Monache.
