Among all of the clubs offered at school, The El Diamante Miner Fusion Club is a dedicated club to facilitating connections between general ed and special ed students on campus. Every Tuesday and Thursday during homeroom students come into the classroom to tutor the students with assignments and grades.

It is also a time for the two groups to forge lasting friendships.

The first club meeting was held at the beginning of September after Club Rush with a great turnout.

The club’s President Rylee McDaniels was “very excited to start the club off strong with new members.”

One of the most important events for the club is the Special Olympics; which is held at the end of the year. Club members travel to Groppetti Stadium to assist students with track and field events. Club Vice

President Diego Medina attended Special Olympics and said “My favorite part of the day was cheering my friends on while they ran the 50-meter dash and seeing a huge smile on their faces after seeing them win a medal!”

Throughout the year the club participates in many holiday festivities. These holidays include Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, etc. The next meeting will be held on Halloween. The special ed students will go door or door trick or treating from teachers’ classrooms. In the past, the students have really enjoyed the social aspect and of course, all the candy they receive.
