El D Student’s Family Opens Local Restaurant

By Angela Cruz & Eliana Gonzalez

Encanto Mexican Restaurant is a family-owned and operated business by one of our local El Diamante High School students and her family. Their restaurant provides a wide variety of foods you can order. Its interior design creates a sense of comfort and is gorgeous, especially inside the bar. Inside the bar area, there is an eye-catching stained glass window called “The Pride of Mississippi” as shown to the below. Customers have said that this stained glass window ties everything together and creates a perfect relaxing atmosphere to dine in.

Lupita Neri-Sanchez, a family member of the restaurant who is also a senior at El Diamante High School, recommended that a good area to eat at the restaurant is the patio. She describes it as a very calm place to eat and hang out with your friends. “The patio is calmer and you can spend time with friends”. On special occasions, there might even be a DJ in the restaurant. Lupita also shared her favorite dishes and recommendations. “For lunch, I would recommend the asada plate…My favorite dish at the restaurant is menudo”.

The workers in the restaurant are friendly and attentive. They make sure you are taken care of and quickly serve you the food. We had our prom dinner at the Encanto restaurant. We were able to have a room all to ourselves with an extravagant environment. There were six of us total in the room. Despite it being somewhat busy, our food came relatively fast.
