El Diamante Girls Basketball Season a Success

The El Diamante Girls Basketball team has had a very successful season this year. There are four seniors, four juniors, five sophomores, and two freshmen on the team. They have been battling all year and each game they come out strong.

Senior captain Neveah Creason exclaims “My favorite memory is preparing for a game with my teammates by listening to music and getting hyped up”. Neveah has been playing basketball since she was three and is a four-year varsity player. She is contributes a lot to the team and helps encourage them to be successful. 

Senior Captin Olivia Torres

Senior Olivia Torres is also a team captain and her favorite thing about it is “Having the girls look up to [us] and being a role model.” She helps get the team excited by giving encouraging words and always motivating them to do their best. Torres plays shooting guard and is a starter. 

Kalyssa Holmes is a senior on the team as well and the advice she would give to underclassmen is “to not be scared to fail because that is the only way you are going to get better”. Holmes plays center and has been playing all four years of high school.

The girl’s basketball team ended up second overall in the league with a record of 17-9. They achieved many goals and were very successful this season.
