This year, the Kentucky Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles battled it out to hold the title of the Super Bowl LIX winners. Although the Super Bowl is widely loved by millions because of the game itself, it is much more than just a football game; it’s an event that brings friends, family, and fans together to celebrate. Ranging from the legendary commercials to the celebrity-filled halftime performances, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy.

People have different reasons to watch the Super Bowl. Junior Brian Miranda states that the halftime shows are what draws his attention every year, “I love the halftime shows. Usually, they’re pretty cool and they aren’t boring. I’m just really excited about the halftime show this year.”
Grammy winner and rap star sensation, Kendrick Lamar and his guest artist, SZA, performed at this year’s halftime show. Junior Noeli Carranza stated that, “The half-time show was legit.”
Like Miranda, Carranza’s favorite moments of the Super Bowl are the halftime shows, “My favorite thing is the halftime show, of course. Usually, the effort put in is fun to watch and most of the time it’s popular artists that everybody knows.”
Not only does the Super Bowl provide entertainment, but it also provides a chance for family and friends to enjoy the show together. Carranza states “I go to my cousin’s house every year and we watch it. Usually, we have food as well.”
Food is another huge part of the Super Bowl that is separate from the game itself. While watching the game, fans often snack on various foods. Carranza says “My favorite snack is my Tia’s jalapeno poppers. They’re so good.”
This year had mixed reviews about the game and the half-time show, but overall people were happy to spend time with family and friends and chow down on some great grub.
