By FRANK ESPINO

The arctic blast has broken many low-temperature records in many places in the US. The blast started in Siberia and has reached the U.S. bringing snow and ice with it. Records have been set in Kansas and Illinois and forecasters say records can be matched or broken this week. The arctic blasts have caused more than 1,000 flights to be canceled and bad traffic all throughout the states. 4 traffic deaths have been linked to the weather from the blast. Some schools have been closed in places. The temperatures are forecasted to come up on the weekend.
