On October 25th, a special grand opening took place in Downtown Visalia. Clubhouse Visalia, a mental health resource, opened at 206 East Oak Avenue. The overall goal of Clubhouse Visalia is to reduce the stigma around mental illness and increase the number of resources available to more individuals in Visalia. They offer training in different skills, help in education and employment, health and wellness opportunities, and recreation with other members. The nonprofit organization provides free membership to those who are eighteen and older who have a mental illness and are in need of mental health aid. The organization plans to create a welcoming and diverse environment where members can grow and heal in their mental health. Overall, Clubhouse Visalia is expected to be a fresh, positive, and unique mental health resource for residents in Visalia.
